When to Leave a Cheating Spouse
If you find out for sure that your spouse has been cheating on you, your next question is usually something like “If and When to Leave a Cheating Spouse?”
There is no right time to leave a cheating spouse that fits all situations. What might be right for you might not be right for the woman two streets over, so whatever you read or discover here or at any other site that you visit searching for answers, the truth is you have to weigh up your situation and come to your own conclusions.
However, what is clear though is that there are some other questions you can be asking yourself as you try and figure out: “when to leave a cheating spouse?”
1) How many times has your spouse cheated on you?
If your spouse has routinely cheated on you over the course of the marriage/relationship, then perhaps there is no saving the relationship. This kind of routine cheating points to the fact that it is going to take a helluva job to change your spouse’s behavior and you have to ask yourself “Do you even want to be with someone who has so little regard for you?”
2) Has your spouse stopped hiding their cheating from you?
Sometimes when a cheater just makes no effort to even spare your feelings and hide their behavior, that can be a sign that they just don’t care one bit about how you feel. In fact, they’re quite happy to humiliate you in front of family and friends because they believe what they want is more important than caring for you.
3) Are they having unsafe sex with BOTH you and their lover?
This, quite frankly, is the epitome of recklessness. If your spouse is having unprotected sex with someone outside of your marriage and then coming back and doing the same with you, then you are leaving yourself open to all kinds of STIs. If you do nothing else take care of yourself sexually and understand that your cheating spouse is putting your life at risk.
If you answered any of the above three questions in ways that made you feel uncomfortable, then you probably know the answer to your question “When to Leave a Cheating Spouse?” is NOW!!
With that said, remember, this is still not going to be an easy decision to make. You no doubt have time invested in this marriage/relationship and you might even have children and joint assets with your cheating spouse. But if your spouse’s behavior has become so reckless, so selfish and so obvious, that they clearly don’t care about you, then you have some tough questions to ask yourself.
Give yourself time to think about what you want and what you want to do but above all, take good care of yourself!
