Re-Building The Trust In Your Relationship
If the trust has broken down in your relationship, for whatever reason, and you want to save that relationship then you’re going to have to find a way to rebuild that trust quickly. Without trust you will find if very difficult to go forward in any healthy way.
Tips To Help You Move Towards Rebuilding Trust In Your Relationship
Follow Through! What you say you must mean. You’re not going to re-build trust in your relationship if you say one thing and do the opposite. If you do the opposite to what you say, then you end up whittling away any respect your spouse has for you. So please make sure to follow through.
Don’t keep secrets! Keeping secrets presents a clear and obvious danger to your relationship, . If you have something significant going on in your life that you cannot tell your spouse , then that there is a clear sign that all is not well with your relationship. Aim to be as honest and open as you can be. Not only that, keeping a secret requires a great deal of work, work that you should be putting into your marriage/relationship.
Don’t play the martyr and suffer in silence! If your spouse is not meeting your needs whether sexually, emotionally or in any other way that you require, keeping this a secret will do you and your relationship no favors. You simply have to tell them what you need. Sometimes you may think you’re protecting your partner and their feelings by not telling them what you need, but you’re not. You’re just storing up future trouble and living in present misery. It’s okay to be self-centered as long as you’re not selfish.
Figure out how to say “No!” whenever you need to. Don’t allow yourself to lose you and lose your voice. Remember you’re important and if you don’t show your partner that, then they’ll forget it.
Re-building the trust in your relationship has as much to do with you being strong and assured about your needs as it does your partner being open and honest with you. Both of them are vital and in equal measures will allow real and healthy growth for both of you.
